Sri Lanka College of Radiologists

The Sri Lanka College of Radiologists, established in January 1980 and officially renamed in 2004, is a distinguished institution dedicated to representing both Clinical Radiology and Radiation Oncology. Aligned with the Postgraduate Institute of Medicine, University of Colombo, the college is committed to training competent Radiologists and Radiotherapists to meet the evolving demands in the country. Over the years, the College, in collaboration with the Postgraduate Institute of Medicine, has successfully produced a significant number of Clinical Radiologists and Clinical Oncologists. With a current membership of 331, the Sri Lanka College of Radiologists serves as the sole authority overseeing and managing the professional standards of Radiologists in Sri Lanka, fostering local academic activities and encouraging members to participate in academic pursuits globally.

I am honoured, and deeply humbled, to be elected as the President of the Sri Lanka College of Radiologists, for the year 2024. I thank the members, for the confidence and the trust you have placed in me, to steer the College in the coming year. I will do my best to fulfil the expectations of the membership. It is certainly not an easy task, but I am confident, that with the support of the council and all the members, we will be able to meet the challenges.
