Dear all,

Today we celebrate the IDoR 2026 with the theme, "Radiologists and Radiographers Supporting Patients" which highlights the vital, everyday role that we play through out the patient care journey. Core objectives of this special day is building awareness on imaging contributions to safe patient care, health care continuity, earlier and more precise detection and better treatment out comes.

The initial IDoR was in 2012 and we are celebrating the 15th International Day of Radiology since then. SLCR has celebrated the day with different capacities.

While the world radiology community celebrates this special day, SLCR council has organized the following events to celebrate this important day.

*CME on Emergency Radiology which was held from 1st- 6th of November on Emergency Radiology in collaboration with RANZCR

*Inter-university Medical Faculty Quiz 2026 Champions were university of Colombo 1st Runner up was University of Kelaniya 2nd Runner up was University of Rajarata.

*We will be featuring on Swarnavahini on 9th of November, tomorrow in Ayubowan Sri Lanka programme discussing the Radiologists Role

*Two hospital based IDoR programmes will be facilitated by SLCR at Horana DGH on 10th November and at LRH on 13th November.

*IDoR lecture on Approach to Chest Radiology at Radiology Examinations will be on 13th November at 8.00pm on Zoom.
